First dental exams – always FREE for kids 3 and under!
First Dental Exams
Children up to the age of 3 are welcome to come in for a complimentary first dental exam. Expect this visit to take 30 minutes or so. We’ll examine your child’s teeth and gums and talk to you about any issues we might see. Ask any questions you have and we’ll share our tips for creating healthy habits to last a lifetime.
Checkups & Cleanings
Just like grownups, a checkup every 6 months really helps kids and teens maintain excellent dental health. In addition to a gentle cleaning and brushing tips from our friendly hygienists, Dr. Jason, our office’s pediatric dentist, will perform a thorough exam, checking to make sure teeth are healthy and growing in proper alignment. We try to keep these exams and cleanings shorter because we know younger kids can get restless.
Cavities are common in both children and adults but are not something to be ignored. We aim to prevent cavities in kids through regular exams, fluoride applications, and cleanings. If a cavity is found, we’ll evaluate it and discuss the options for repairing it! We offer several options such as composite fillings, porcelain crowns, stainless steel crowns, and in some cases, minimally invasive techniques with silver diamine fluoride. Our goal is to ensure your children are set up for lifelong dental health.
Tongue & Lip Tie Releases
Over 10% of newborns are born with a “lip tie” or “tongue tie.” Our goal as a frenectomy provider is to carefully evaluate and resolve any issues related to a tongue or lip tie. By resolving these issues early, we can make it easier and more comfortable for a child to feed and avoid problems as their teeth begin to develop. Dr. Jason has performed hundreds of successful tongue and lip tie releases. Schedule a consult today.
Fluoride treatments can help reduce and in some cases even treat cavities. We often recommend fluoride for pediatric patients. It’s great for kids who have a history of cavities and those who are looking to stay cavity-free! Fluoride is quick, easy, and we offer the choice of several fun flavors — our favorite is marshmallow!

Answers to your questions
When should I bring my child in for their first appointment?
Generally speaking, most kids should see a dentist either by their first birthday or within 6 months of their first tooth coming in. Dr. Jason is a board-certified pediatric dentist who often sees children as young as 6 months old and we love the opportunity to make your child’s first dental visit a great one!
Let’s just say my kids aren’t looking forward to seeing the dentist. Can you help?
We get it. Visiting the dentist isn’t something that’s on the top of everybody’s list. But Dr. Jason has years of experience helping kids feel as comfortable and empowered as possible during their visits to our office. For example, he uses high-tech imaging equipment that lets kids “ride along” and see what he sees. They love it!
Do I need dental insurance for you to see my child?
We welcome patients of all ages, with and without dental insurance coverage. Our recommendations and treatment plans are guided by what’s best for our patients’ health, not their insurance coverage. A discussion of financing and payment options is part of every first visit to our office. Your child’s first visit under the age of three is free!
Can you work with my dental insurance?
We are in-network with a variety of insurance providers. Contact our office at (732) 945-7388 for more details. At your new patient appointment, we’ll review your benefits and provide an estimated out-of-pocket investment for your treatment plan.
Do you see adults, too?
Yes, Dr. Christine Rizkalla is an experienced general dentist who works with our practice’s adult patients. Not only can we care for the kids and adults in your family, but we can schedule appointments in the mornings, evenings, or on the weekends to fit the busiest schedules.
“Dr. Jason is an absolutely amazing pediatric dentist with a bedside manner that is hard to find. Thank you for treating our son as if he was your own! We will see you in 6 months!”
